With a standard sitar string layout, the bass string had to feed to it's corresponding peg outside the head stock.

The upper tumba is anodized spun aluminum. The original bracket for the tumba was way too delicate so I engineered a more solid wood bracket.

It was necessary to fashion a block of rosewood to cover the neck end.

I had fun putting this instrument together. Although the neck is deep in relation to a conventional sitar, it is not difficult at all to navigate.
